Double hung windows from the early 1990s. 8 window balance window assembles need replacement. The balance spring is encased in a plastic cover. I have been told that the assembly is just inserted.
Can you help. I have someone who can do the job if I can find the parts.

This shows a broken spring and the plastic cover. With spring broken the plastic cover slides in the jam liner through the window housing.
I can't find any markings on jam liner or spring.
If you can't suggest a direct replacement, can you suggest a possible replacement system.
Windows are 72 by 31 (approximately). Made by Universal in 1991.

Thanks for reaching out to us! I'm sorry to say that we would not be able to supply you with a replacement for the jamb liner springs you have here. Since this appears to be a wood window, my best suggestion would be to reach out to a local millwork in your area to see if they might be able to supply you with the replacements you need.
