Balance type for my windows

Home Owner from Portland, OR

Hello! I -think- I need a 33" Series 385 Channel Balance 3220 (maybe 3210??), but would love your brains on this....

Here's the data I have:

Metal channel is 1/2" wide on the closed side of the U-channel and 5/8" wide due to the folded metal on the open side, 33" long metal not including plastic guide ends. These are springs with string block and tackle pulley system in the channel.

Window weight is 20 lbs.

ink on the channel says 32 4 FN CALDWELL.

The winged bottom shoe end (not as clear as it should be, but cell phones and all.. looks to be over 1", but closer to 1 1/16" vs. 1 3/32", so guessing this is a 15-004 end that's just worn a little as these are 28 year old windows...

Pretty sure the top winged guide is a 19-005, but open to other suggestions.

THANKS!!

Keith

Hi Keith, thanks for all this thorough information. If the nylon shoe has a depth greater than 1", then this definitely sounds like an S385-33. If your window sash weighs exactly 20 lbs, then a stamp option of 3230 would be your best bet. Did your window ever have trouble staying closed before this? If so, it would be because your original balance's stamp option of 3240 was a bit too strong for your window sash. Let us know if you have any questions.
