Balance weight and shoe type

Question

I have a 27-in channel balance from a single tilt window. I don't know whether I have a closed or open cam shoe and I'm not sure what the weight is based off the stamp. I have not weighed the windows yet but I will if I need to.

Hello! That is definitely an open cam shoe. I would recommend the 15-195B. You can purchase this separately from the S795-27 and then snap it on once you get them. The video at the end of this post will clarify.

I'm less confident about the stamp. Your balance was probably just made by a different manufacturer than our S795-27, despite the fact that they're technically the same part. Our 27E stamp may be what you want (E = 5), but you should weigh your sash on a scale to confirm. Two balances with a 27E stamp can carry 26 through 30 pounds. As long as your sash falls in that range then you're good to go.
