What Balancer Do I need
I'm afraid I can't determine what kind of balance you need based on this photo. The only way we can identify a balance is by using the original as a reference.
That said, I'm a little confused by your photo. Are you showing me the side of the window, the top, or the bottom? Those plastic parts on either end almost look like the roller housings for a horizontal window. Can you show me a clearer photo of where the balance would go? Can you also show me the side track in the window frame itself?
If this a horizontal sliding window, then there is no balance that could work in this frame in any capacity. You would need an all new window entirely.
Thank you. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it does look like this is a horizontal slider, but installed sideways to work as a vertical hung window.
This is very unfortunate. It's impossible to convert any type of balance to be used on this kind of sash and frame, so that does mean that you will need a new window. Whoever installed these windows in the first place did not do you any favors at all.
