To start, these are two different types of balances so that could be the reason the balances are failing in the window. Some notable differences are the way the shoes are made as well as the length of the metal channel.

Thanks for confirming! It is likely that the shorter balance was installed as a replacement by whomever had access to the window previously. That balance is not the correct balance for the window and this could be a contributing factor in why the balance failed.

To confirm pricing and availability, I'll need to know the exact length of the metal channel from the balance stamped 14 3 BK5 CMC 50. These will need to be a custom/special order balance so it will be important to confirm the length especially since it is longer than the incorrect balance next to it.

Finally, I'll need to know the exact number of balances you intend to purchase to confirm availability. There is an order minimum of (2) balances per custom balance.
