Balancer for vinyl window
Hello,
With this combination of attachments, you could have either the S380-30 or S385-30 channel balance as long as your metal channel measures exactly 30" long, not including the end fittings. You’ll also need to measure as shown below to confirm the correct replacement. The Series 380 has a 1" bottom attachment, and the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" attachment. I suspect that you'll need the S385 since your fittings appears to be over 1" deep but it is important to confirm.
There should also be numbers included in your stamp code that would correspond to one of our strength options. If not, you'll need to weigh your sash to determine which option you'll need. There is a chart on the product page that explains how to choose your option based on the sash weight.
As for your top sash guide, take a look and compare the dimensions of the 18-009 to yours. Thank you and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
I don't have the sash to weigh but am wondering if the stamp code of "AA CMC 11" contains any strength information.
The top sash guide I have is different than the 18-009 replacement. Mine doesn't have wings at the very top. Mine measures 1 1/2" long and 5/8" wide. The bottom dimension (opposite end vs slanted portion) measures 9/16".
I'm sorry for the miscommunication. The 18-009 is similar to your but, as you mentioned, it has a top portion that extends over the top of the sash. You would need to shave down that top portion to install our part, Once that's done, the top of the sash guide should match the 5/8" width of the bottom.
Each balance would need to support the total weight of the sash. If your sash weighs 30 pounds, then your balances would need 2950 strength options to support a sash between 28 to 32 lbs.
We're happy to help! Just let us know if you need anything else.
