Question

I have a 2 windows that need balance shoes. The sash weighs 21lbs. The balance is 16" from end to end. The metal portion. There is no marking on the the balance.

Thanks for posting! Your channel balance appear to be either the Series 351 with a 1" shoe or the Series 390 with a 1-1/8" shoe. To determine which series is needed for your window, look over the dimensions from the diagram below to confirm the depth of your bottom shoe. You will need to purchase (4) balances as they are not sold in pairs.

Once you've confirmed the series, you'll be able to click on either of the links for your respective balance. Then you'll need to select the length. The length is based on the length of the metal channel, only the metal.

The last thing you'll need to confirm is the stamp/marking from the channel. The stamp is what helps to determine the weight range your balances should be able to carry to support the weight of the sash. If there are no stamps/markings you'll need to obtain the exact weight of the sash.
