Hi Vanessa. We'd be happy to help you replace these balances, but we need just a little more information to be able to help. Could you measure out the depth of the bottom nylon shoe? The 'depth' is essentially the measurement form the 'heel' to the 'toe' of the shoe at its widest point, just below and perpendicular to where the metal channel ends. I want to know if your balances nylon shoes are closest to one of the following shoe types: the 15-005 Shoe, which has a depth of 1", or the 15-004 Shoe, which has a depth of 1-3/32", or the 15-029, which has a depth of 7/8". Compare the dimensions listed on each product page with your old balance's shoe and let me know what is closest. Also, to be safe, check to see if the (3) different sets of balance you're looking to replace have different sized shoes.

A contractor from Cape Coral FL says:
Bob,

Closest on All 4 sizes appear to be less than an inch. So 7/8": 15-029

Thank you.

Hi Vanessa. Not to go against Bob's recommendation to compare shoe sizes, but I don't think there's any need to split hairs here. The bottom balance shoe you show looks likes it has been worn down over time--not uncommon with these balances--so the shoe that comes built-in on our Series 380 should work just fine for you. Most Florida customers use Series 380 for their windows, so this makes sense. If by chance the balances does seem like a tight fit in the sash you can easily file down the toe, though keep in mind that modified products cannot be returned for a refund.

For your 17" balance you would order S380-17 with a stamp option of 1640. For the 30" balance stamped 2930F, you would order the S380-30 with a stamp option of 2930. For the 30" balance stamped 2940F, you would need the S380-30 with a stamp option of 2940. Let us know if you have any other questions.

You are very welcome. If you need anything else from us do not hesitate to ask.

When I order QTY 1, is that for 1 pair - or - just one balance.

Do the 'Guides' - screwed into the top, as a general rule-of-thumb, require attention (replacement) also?

Paul from SWISCO responded:

Ordering a quantity of 1 is just ordering one balance. These are not sold in pairs.

Are you referring to the top sash guide? If so, you can reuse your old ones if they're in good condition.
