I have 12 Barrier Enterprise double hung windows. All have the same problem with the spring balances attached to the bottom portion of the window. The "pivot shoes" are worn and weak, so I believe they may be the culprit. Additionally, a small cap popped out of the window jamb (although I don't know where it came from). I?ve attached photos of the balance system.
I'm not sure if you need to know, but each bottom portion window weighs 25.4 pounds. If replacement parts aren?t available for these windows, is there an alternate type of spring balance system we could install as a replacement? I hope you can help me with this problem as I need to repair these windows as soon as possible.
