Hello,
I installed this replacement awning operator yesterday, and after struggling to get the old rusted one out and the new one screwed in, I noticed that one of the arms has a bend in it that I can't tell whether it is designed that way or damaged in transit. The bend interferes with the ability of the sash to close. What I want to know is, is this 'kink' by design or is it damaged and needs to be replaced? Photos below showing differences between the arms. Thanks!

Hello! The bend in those arms is by design. It's an offset specifically included in the manufacture of this operator.
Do you have the old operator still on hand for us to look at? If yours didn't have this offset, then there may be other differences, as well. I've actually never seen a version of the 39-239B without it, so that'd be pretty peculiar. There's a good chance you have something very different.

OK, thank you! At first it seemed like the kink was interfering with the ability of the window sash to close, but it seems to be getting easier. As long as I know that this is by design and not a defect in the assembly.
