I'm replacing my hollow wood bi-fold doors with metal bifold doors. I looked at the replacement hardware I would need from your thread with similar metal bifold doors. My question is, will I also need to replace my track, or can I purchase a wheel cap that will work with my existing track?
Here are additional photos of the top of my track and bottom bracket. I ended up ordering the 21-001 and 21-007. The hole on my top track bracket is 1/4 opening. Will the 21-007 cap come off so I fit it in this hole without the nylon top? That is how I also hope to fit the roll guide onto one of the 21-007's as well. Also, on the 21-001 do you think the nylon piece will work okay in this bottom bracket? It's opening is 3/8ths.

Hi there, hopefully we can help. Your metal bi-fold doors require an upper and lower track. We offer a few different sizes depending on your closet width. See our 21-401, 21-402, 21-403, and 21-404. These are all the same aside from length. You will also need one bottom adjusting pin, 21-001, with a 21-154 rod clamp. The other three pins will be the 21-007. You will also need two 21-277 track bumpers. I wouldn't try modifying the pins to fit the existing track and bottom corner for metal doors. That might just cause more problems down the line. |
