Question

need help identifying a replacement block-and-tackle channel balance for an older (20+ year old) single-hung vinyl window. The balance is stamped A-2620. The aluminum channel measures 27 inches (metal only, not including the plastic end pieces). The balance has white plastic top and bottom guides attached. I&rsquo;m looking for the exact replacement or the correct modern equivalent. I&rsquo;ve attached photos of the complete balance, the end fittings, and the stamp.

Thanks for your post. This window balance can likely be replaced with the S378-27, S380-27, or S385-27. To determine which of these is the correct series, you'll need to confirm the depth of the bottom shoe on your balances.

Our 2620 stamp will support a sash weighing 9 to 13lbs.
