Block and Tackle
We recently moved into the new house and the small bathroom window never worked properly. Today it got stuck and one block and tackle came loose. I took it out, removed the window, and then tried to understand the problem.
It seems like the installer used two different block and tackle. One block and tackle spring mechanism got twisted and is broken.
Do you have these block and tackle in stock?
Is there a better alternative model?
What are your suggestions?
Thank you in advance for your reply.
Best regards,
Yves
Hello,
You are correct that the two channel balance assemblies shown in your photos are different styles. Once is a type of extended travel balance, which we can supply through a custom order. The other assembly is a standard balance like the S380 or S385, depending on the depth of the bottom fitting as shown below.
Unfortunately, we have no way to confirm which of these balances is the original since we base our part recommendations on the original hardware. It is possible that whoever repaired the window in the past may have had a hard time finding the extended travel balance and used a balance that we had on hand but we can't be sure if that is the case.
If there is another window in the housing from the same manufacturer, you may want to check the balances to determine which style is used. Once you determine which type of balance replacements are needed for the window, we will need you to confirm the metal channel length and stamp code on the original balance that is the correct style for your smaller bathroom window and we can go from there. Thank you.
