Block and Tackle Sash Balance

Home Owner from San Jose, ca
I have a broken Block and Tackle Sash Balance. I have Philips Stayton Windows in my condo which were manufactured in 2007. I attached a photo of the balance for the working window however the broken second window I'm not sure I can get back in place again if I take it out. I measured the Block and Tackle Sash from just below the top plastic (starting where the metal is to the bottom of the metal and it is roughly 30"). I'm not sure precisely which Block and Tackle Sash I should purchase as a replacement. The two windows are side by side and exactly the same size.

Near the name of the windows it says it's E2190 CBA 1242 before the date of manufacturing. I'd like to purchase 4 of the Block and Tackle Sash's since they seem prone to some damage. I measured the windows the width 30.375 x height 29.25" (I measured just the window here inside the frame so I assume it extends a little under the frame).

What size should I purchase? Can you help me out and do you have the parts?

Thanks for writing in. I'm afraid that stamp code only tells us the strength of the spring inside the balance. To know the identity, or what we call the Series, we need to see it out of the window, with photos of the nylon fittings on either end of the balance. From there, we should be able to narrow down what you need.

Ok I'll grab that over the weekend and send it in.

I uploaded the photos of the Block Tackle Sash Balance. Does this help along with the measurements I provided earlier?

Does this allow you to tell me what part I need?

Hey Art. This looks like either an S380-30 or S385-30. The only difference between these two balances is the 'depth' of the bottom nylon shoe, so compare both with your old hardware to see what matches best. You will need a stamp option of 2940.

Bob,

Hey thanks for the help. I measured it today and looks like it was the S380-30 (just 1" at the bottom). I ordered 4 of them to be shipped out here figuring I might as well replace them for both windows.

Thanks for the assistance.
