The above pictures are of a good balance installed in window. The rod in the middle of the spring is 27 1/4". The sash height is 28 3/4". The lock mechanisms are fine. The block and tackle need to be replaced along with spring and rod.

Hi there, Scott.
This old rod balance isn't made anymore but we, fortunately, have a replacement which would be the Series 770. You'll just need to measure an undamaged balance and weigh your sash on a scale to determine the proper length and strength option. Take a look and let us know if you have any questions.
