Blue tipped coil spring balances

Question

The removal screw for the balance is behind a portion of the window framing. This is for the lower window only. Do you have any advice on what to do so I can remove the balance. I need to replace them on many of my windows in the entire house.

First, raise your sash up a few inches, tilt it in, and remove it. Then, carefully pull off that white cover which is covering the track. Be careful, as you don't want to crack it. It's snapped in so you will need to work it out.

Now, the tension of the balance should be gone since you unscrewed it at the top, so all you should have to do is unhook it from the lower pivot lock show and take it out. Watch this video for more help.
