Bottom glass shower door crushed

Home Owner from South Carolina
Handicapped brother leaned heavy on door in 2022 and crushed bottom hinge. Brother-in-Law rigged it to work temporarily, but that is crumbling. Is this the part needed to fix my issue?

Thank you for reaching out to us. I'm afraid I can't get a good look at these pivots. Can you remove the pivots from the door and show us some photos? Would you also happen to know the manufacturer of the door?

Sorry no. I'm a 70 yr old widow who can't take the door off. I am also the 3rd owner and I believe the 2nd owner changed the shower from a bathtub to a walk-in shower and left no manufacturer information.

I'm sorry to hear that. In that case, I don't believe there's anything we can do to help. Without knowing who made the door, and assuming that the affected parts aren't even the right hardware for the job to begin with, then we have no reference from which to make a recommendation.

This is probably not going to be an easy or cheap project. The best case scenario I can envision, given the circumstances, is that you'd be able to find a local professional who is familiar with shower doors and can make another, more permanent, custom rig for you to use. The worst case scenario is that you would need an all new shower door setup entirely.

Checking for a local professional should be your next step, especially anyone who has experience with shower doors.

I am sorry that we can't be of more help.

Working on that now. In fact, have a glass shower door pro coming out soon. Fingers crossed!

That's great news! Hopefully they can point you in the right direction. Sorry again that we couldn't help, and best of luck with this project.
