Bottom hinge replacement on casement window

A home owner from West Nyack, NY says:
Hi, believe I need to replace bottom hinge on 3 casement windows. They have become detached. They are from Monda Windows. (Queens NY). Probably about 15 Yrs. old. The only markings I see are the word : 'Truth' and the number : '30905'.

Please take a look at our 36-048 bar hinge set and see if this matches up with the measurements of your hinge. When replacing one hinge, we always recommend replacing the other one to ensure the functionality of the parts.

A home owner from West Nyack, NY says:
Hi Dave, I don't believe I need that hinge set but I need the post that is attached to the bottom of the window frame with three screws. Going to forward a new photo that I've attached.

I see what you mean. This bracket looks like our 39-548. Look it over and let me know if you agree.

A home owner from West Nyack, NY says:
Looks right Tom. Thx, just placed my order.

Awesome, thank you! Please let me know if you had any other questions.

Hi, I just installed one of the brackets (39-548). Fits perfect. However, when re-installing the window, I had a little problem sliding the black plastic brackets back into their slot. Unfortunately they both (upper and lower) cracked. Do you sell those separately or do I have to buy a new hinge set where they're already attached. Hope it's the former !!!

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble. Could you be referring to the small black slide that I see peeking out from under the corner of the sash in your first photo? If so, that would be the slide for the hinge.

The bad news is that these aren't sold separately. I've never seen a manufacturer provide these by themselves, though I'm not sure why. It may be due to how they're installed on the hinge. Either way, you will need an all new hinge assembly instead. I know that's not ideal, but that is the only option available.

I recommend our 36-048. It's not exactly the same as yours, but it comes as a pair; as long as you replace the top and bottom hinge in your sash with this pair, then you won't notice a difference. The video will explain how this can be done.

Yep, the top and bottom hinge for the 36-048 set are mirror images of one another, so they can work on either a left or right hand window interchangeably.

A home owner from West Nyack, NY says:
Yes, it's the black slide. Thx. Also, does this hinge set (36-048) work for both left and right window. I ask because I recently purchased brackets (39-548 and 39-549) for the left and right windows.
A home owner from West Nyack, NY says:
Ok, thanks. Last question, I promise. I have similar windows to the ones in the video you sent. I also have inside bug screens that match each window. Some of them need replacing. Do you where I could purchase them from. Not all the screens are the same size. Thx

Unfortunately, that's a little outside our wheelhouse. I would see if you have a hardware shop near you that makes screens. They should be able to help, or at least point you in the right direction.

Ok, thx.
