Hi,
I was wondering if you could tell me about the feel of the 6' ROLLYSON SNAP-IN (Product Code: 55-158-6). I think this is the correct part for our windows and our current glazing (25+ year old windows) is very brittle and snaps easily. Just a little bit of pressure, even from kid fingers, and chips will form on the exposed edge. I am wondering if it's because of the age of the plastic, or if it is just the nature of this particular glazing. I don't want to replace them if the new ones are going to snap and chip just as easily. Is your snap in glazing more flexible or at least more durable?
Thank you!

Most snap in glazing beads will become brittle with age and the exposure to the sun. This could be a continuing situation with the 55-158-6 every few years, unfortunately.

Question for Peggy, from Illinois. I have the same problem that you inquired about. Can you please let me know if you decided to proceed with the replacement of your brittle glazing. I can't find a contractor near me that would do this work, and I am looking for some advice before I try to tackle this project myself. I have seen information from others that state that these replacement snap-in glazing beads #55-158-6 don't fit properly with the thickness of the original window glass. What did you eventually do?
