It looks like the worm gear has stripped out. That can't be repaired or replaced, unfortunately. You need an all new operator.

We can help, but we'll need you to remove the operator from the window and show us a picture of the whole mechanism. Your photos now only show the base, which is just half the story. Once I can see the whole thing in one shot, I can match it up to a product in our catalog.

Does this mean replacing the whole box or the whole kitenkabottel including the arm?

You can't replace the base without also replacing the arm. They're one single part. If you can show me the operator out of the window, I can tell you what it is.

I am sorry. I am a 75 year old with no handyman capabilities. In other words I can't get it out of the window frame. This is for a house sale and we close soon. Could you please give me a range re: cost so I can credit them?!

We have about a dozen different operators that could potentially replace the one you show here, and none of them are interchangeable. Their prices also vary considerably. There's also the possibility that you have something that's not made anymore. There are a lot of variables to consider that we simply can't know without seeing the whole operator.

If you aren't able to remove it, could you at least open the window as far as it can go and show me as much of it as you can? This isn't information we can do without. It's essential.
