Broken Lock Tail Piece

Home Owner from Johnson City, TN
While trying to reinstall the door handle on my Swisco VSGD 311/312, the lock tail piece broke in two.

Hi there!

It sounds like you might need a new latch lever. Look over the dimensions for our 82-107 and see if this matches what you need.

I think I would like to replace the entire handle. Would the Legacy Keyed Handle Set, 3-15/16" (1-1/8" to 2-1/2") 82-086 fit?

Is the thumb lever on your original handle set off set like our 82-086? And is your hole center spacing 3-15/16"? If so, I think our 82-086 is a good candidate for a replacement.

the instillation guide showed to brake the lock tail to half of the door. I did this but lock is not in the center of the door therefore inside tail is too long and outside is too short.

Can I buy only the lock and key set, or do I need to order the whole assembly?

Hello, Paul. Assuming that you purchased the 82-086 handle set mentioned above, then the 82-310 key lock is fully compatible with this set and should work perfectly fine. I would also advise only breaking the key tail an increment at a time, trying it out with each cut. It's more work and more time consuming, but a lot more forgiving.
