Need help asap...my father who has passed purchased 6 patio sliding doors with locks several years ago. One of the tenants locks has broken and I have searched endlessly for this lock and cannot find it
The Patio door amd lock are Anderson locks. I called Anderson and they said this the silver series lock and sold it to Ply Gem. I contacted Ply Gem and they gave me this sight. Please help in finding locks
Thanks for reaching out to us. I can honestly say I've never seen this handle style before, but I think it may be something we can still help with. Looking at the design of the mortise and the method by which this set screws to the door, I think you have some kind of alternate version of our 82-080.
You'll note that ours has the same side-insert screws as your original. Your first step should be to check to ensure that they're the same distance apart as ours: 4-15/16" on center.
You also need to make sure that our set is compatible with the existing mortise. Our 82-080 is traditionally used with the 82-238, which looks almost identical to yours from what I can see. However that's just the face plate and hooks. Your second step should be to remove that and check the hole where the thumb lever goes. If it's square, like ours, then I think we have a winner.

That is very peculiar. I don't think I've ever seen such a device. With that in mind, I can't really predict how our handle set will operate as a replacement on this same door. All I can tell you with confidence is that our 82-080 appears to mount to the door the same way, and it is compatible with a mortise lock of a similar design. Whether it is the same mortise lock is going to be the deal breaking question. The way this locks is simply by flipping the thumb lever, which in turn rotates the square hole in the mortise, which itself extends the two hooks.

As for what parts you need to order, at this stage the only part I think you need is the 82-080 handle set. However before you buy anything you need to check your mortise to ensure that it's compatible, as described above. That will require removing it from the door entirely.
