The part that the window fits in is 1 1/4" wide and 1/2" deep. The upper part is 3/4" wide. Unfortunately there are no markings anywhere on the parts or on the window itself. The replacement windows were here when we moved in and have no markings on them either.
Thanks for your help

Hello! What is broken in this system, exactly? The great part about this kind of balance system is that you can just replace the individual components. Start by looking at our 15-180 pivot shoe and Series 190 coil spring. To determine which Series 190 option you have, you'll need to match up the number printed on your current springs. Let me know if this hardware will work for you.

Hi Tom,
Unfortunately as I said above there are no stamps or markings of any kind on any of the parts. What would happen if I just picked something in the middle of the range and it wasn't correct?

It's the balance that is broken. I forgot to say that

You should not pick a random balance. If it is not the proper strength, it will not work.
If there are no stamps or markings anywhere on the spring itself, then we can still calculate what you need. Tell me the weight of the sash and how many springs are used on each side of the window. Thanks!
