Broken block and tackle patent 5.737.877

A home owner from Decatur, AL says:

I've read post to Swisco looking for parts or replacements for tilt window components with the same patent number 5.737.877. I've attached images of my existing broken components to see if you can suggest a replacement.

Thank you,

Doug

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Thanks for reaching out to us, Doug. Looks like you have an old rod-type balance. These aren't made anymore, unfortunately, but you can use our Series 775 as a replacement. The only catch is you'll have to weigh your sash to determine the best spring strength option, as represented by the numbered stamp.

A home owner from Decatur, AL says:
Thank you for your post. The sash weighed approximately 14 lbs. I assume the length of the new balance needs to be the same as the old balance shown by the images sent before. If that is correct I need to order new series 775 balances, 24B & 1-1/4" Shoe, correct?

Tom from SWISCO responded:

Yep, that sounds right to me. If your old balance is 24" then definitely stick with that. The 24B stamp can carry 11 through 17 pounds, so that will be perfect for your sash weight.
