Broken coils windows don't stay open

Question

We have 6 windows out of 14 which don't stay open coils are broken . What is the problem ??? please let me know how to repair as we want to sell the house . Some have a number 8 on the plastic casing

Thanks for posting. Sounds like you need to replace the coil balances. This shoe and housing is our 15-087 and 15-086; this assembly uses our Series 180 Coil Balances. If you need help picking the right stamp option, give us the exact weight of the window sash, and we'll work out what you need.
