Broken door lock female piece mounted to frame, not door

I could not find any markings and I can't explain it very well. The broken piece in the photo attaches to the inner frame (where the door closes). The lick mechanism is still intact inside the door. I have three doors with locks and their design is a pain the neck. Any suggestions?
