Broken handles

A home owner from Waukesha, WI says:
I don't know the manufacturer of these windows. The house was built in 1957. I suspect they are Anderson's. I have 5 of these awning windows, 3 of them with broken handles which makes it nearly impossible to open them. I have no idea how to get the mechanisms out of the frame. I can remove the windows themselves easily.
I'm looking for advice on how to get the mechanism out to help identify what kind of mechanism I have and order replacements.
I'm hoping you can help.

Hello,

We can't say for sure without seeing the operator arms that move the window sash in and out but you might need one of the lever operators we've related for you, depending on the dimensions.

Also, keep in mind that in some cases it may be necessary to remove the window sill trim that covers the operator base to uninstall it. Thank you!

It would be the 39-069.
I was hoping you could instruct me on how to remove the sill trim. I have no idea how its attached (screws or nails)

Take a look at our video below that will give you a general overview of removing the sill trim. The featured operator is different than yours but the trim removal should be relatively the same process.
