I need to replace the spring that broke on the latch of an old aluminum Milgard sliding window

Unfortunately, we do not carry an exact match for the window latch shown in your photos. You are welcome to look through our selection here but I'm not confident that any of our replacements would work since these parts tend to be specific to the window manufacturer. I'm sorry that we won't be able to provide a closer match at this time.

I have the same issue with my sash latch on the Milgard sliding window. I see that Swisco does not offer a replacement spring, so I thought I would just swap out the latch from another window in the house that doesn't have to be locked and unlocked as frequently.

My question is: How do I get that sliding latch out of the sash edge? Looks like there is a pretty solid stop at each end.
Any help is appreciated.

These types of window locks generally slide out of either end of the sash once it is removed from the frame. If you could show us photos of your lock and the end stops that you mentioned, we'd be happy to look into this further for you.

Thanks Casey. As a self proclaimed "Quick Learner", I should have looked further into the issue before submitting. I got it figured out once I removed the square drive screw in the frame and opened the frame slightly it slides right out.
Strange that there is very little information out there about this type of latch.....even from Milgard.
