Broken left pivot lock shoe on upper sash of Champion tilt-in window; sash labeled Champion CBA ALI 90

Quick Learner from Manhattan, NYC
Screw mount for securing balance spring torn away. Shoe travels in 1 1/4 inch channel and is itself about 2 inches high. May also need new balance spring assembly. Thanks in advance for any help. One photo shows broken shoe and another the intact shoe opposite. If you know of service person available for Manhattan, much appreciated.

Hello there!

The 15-047 comes to mind though this is just an educated guess. You'll need to remove the pivot shoe and compare the dimensions to confirm. The balance would be either the Series 900 or Series 600 depending on the outer tube diameter.

We don't know service people in Manhattan, unfortunately. I am very sorry for the inconvenience.

Many thanks for reply. Had forgotten key measurement of thickness of shoe. Will get.

Another question: how is the metal balance spring tab secured in the pivot shoe? I don't see a small bolt to tighten it down. Does the balance spring somehow "hook" into the pivot shoe without the need for a bolt?

Many thanks.

The screw is a safety feature to prevent the spiral of the balance from slipping out. The balance would install the same way but it's up to you if you'd like to reinstall the screw like your original. We also recommend the 75-006 charging tool.
