The only markings on metal strip in between glass is "Malta 178"

I have been hired to fix the window and the have taken the interior trim & sill off and looks to me that the whole window needs to be removed an replaced ,unlike a casement window that has trim seals that can be removed an your able to carefully remove the glass and seal ???

Hm... I'm not familiar with repairing Malta windows. Malta is no longer in business, and that code number looks like it could be from the year 1978. In some cases, the wood sash is built around the glass without removable trim. Check the corners to see if you notice any nail or screws holding the frame together. You might need to cut away the wood from around either side of the glass and install new trim molding. I'm not sure what the solution is, or if there is a solution at all.
