Broken part on left side

Home Owner from New York
The plastic housing on the pivot mechanism for the left side of my window snapped in half. Both the metal cylinder and plastic housing are stamped "CHINA". The metal cylinder also has 15/60 stamped on it.

The piece that broke is connected by a metal coil that is in another housing that is screwed into the frame. I have unscrewed the housing, but I cannot remove this piece from the track.

That looks like a match for our 15-192 pivot shoe. Look it over and let me know what you think! As for removing it from the window, it is designed to pop out of that cutout in the track.

Quick reply! Thanks Tom. I will try again to get the housing with the spring out, it was very tight.

Can you link the part that houses the coil? I am not sure how/if I will be able to attach 15-192 to the old coil housing.

Thank you!

Sure, the coil spring is our Series 170. This just screws to the 15-192 pivot shoe.

Just received the pivot lock and it does not fit into the track. It's a bit too wide in both directions. Is there a slightly smaller part?

There is not, unfortunately. The 15-192 shoe is the only part made in this style that I know of. I'm actually surprised to hear that it didn't work. Can you show me a picture of the new and old shoe side by side? Can you also tell me the exact difference in dimensions?

I'm missing the other half of the original unfortunately. The replacement has some additional tabs on the sides that stop it from sliding into the track. I used a blade to widen the cutout in the track, and still could not get it to seat properly.

The old one is 13/16 of an inch deep. The new one is 1 & 1/16 of an inch with the tabs.

Thank you. I'm afraid there just isn't any other shoe out there that matches this style. If the 15-192 won't fit, we don't have anything else that will. Would it be possible to use a file on those tabs to give you the clearance you need?
