Broken pivot shoe

Handy Person from Audubon, Pa
Hi, your videos are very helpful; however, I'm still not sure which parts to order. I definitely need the pivot shoe, but do I also need to replace the coil balance? They seem to be connected in a way that requires replacement of both. Also one of the videos mentioned that if I replace the pivot shoe I also need to replace the pin at the base of the window. Please advice all parts necessary for a proper fit to my tilt out window (certainteed window 39" x 52" circa 2003). Thanks

Hello there!

Our 15-192 is my recommendation for the pivot shoe. Your old springs should be compatible with this but if they're broken you'll need to replace them. They're usually screwed to the side of the pivot shoe. For new springs, see the S170 and S171As for the pivot bar, you can reuse it if it's in good condition.

Let us know if you have any other questions!

Hello! I ordered and installed the pivot shoe. Unfortunately the shoe won't slide down into the channel. The small protrusions and the depth of the shoe is too wide to slide into the channel. What are my options? Is there a smaller pivot shoe? Thanks

Our 15-192 is our best match for your old pivot shoe but what you can do is shave down the bumps on the face so that it can fit into the window track. Note that modified items cannot be returned for a refund. Our return policy can be found here
