Broken spiral balance

Home Owner from Long Valley, NJ
I need replacement spiral balances for a Thermal Industries double hung window. The plastic tube of the existing balance is 23" long and 1/2" in diameter. The length of the tube plus the end piece with the pins is 23 3/4". The end piece consists of two rows of pins which are 1/4" in length. The windows contain double pane glass and the lower sash is 24" long by 28 1/2" wide.

We'd like for you to confirm the tube diameter of your spiral balance. If it measures either 9/16" or 5/8", then you maybe able to use our S600-23. Look it over and let us know if you believe we have found your match.

Paul,

Thanks for getting back to me. The tube has become a bit egg shaped over time but when I squeeze it to round it out it measures 9/16. It does appear that your S600-23 will work for me. I will need two of these. I'd also like to order the tilt window shoes that the balances fit into. Please let me know what you need from me to place this order.

Thanks again for your help.

Bob

We can also help with a replacement pivot shoe. We will need to see a photo of your original one for reference. It will need to be removed from the window. I will place a video below of one of the more common methods on the removal of pivot shoes. Once you have removed it, we will also need for you to provide us with the width, height, and thickness measurement.
