Broken storm door spring

A handy person from Virginia says:
The outside handle on my Ideal Security storm door latch hangs down and doesn't return to neutral.
The return spring is broken. The spring is contained in a cartridge with a square extension that seats in the outside handle. The storm door is about 15 years old. Is a replacement spring cartridge available?
Thanks,
Richard

Hello, Richard. We may have something, but I'm not sure what you have. Can you show me a few pictures of the inside and outside latch? Can you also give me their dimensions? I'm not sure if the spring cartridge will be available by itself, but the spring is usually located in the inside handle. Replacing that may be all you need to do.

Hello, maybe I can help. I actually recognize this lockset, however I'm afraid it is no longer available. I'm not even sure it even is from Ideal Security. See if you can retro fit our 40-058 to your door. See what you think.

UPDATE: We just added our 40-130 and 40-131 handle sets, which may act as a better replacement for this hardware.
