Broken springs

Handy Person from Lakewood, OH 44107
The springs on both sides of the window are broke. The window is 52 1/2W X 58 H, quite heavy, there are no identifiying markings. I'm not sure if the triple spring will work in this window. Thanks

Hello! The components of your coil balance assembly appear to match our 15-087 shoe, 15-086 carrier, and Series 180 spring. Look these parts over and let me know if you agree.

We also sell that tilt latch in your second photo, which would be our 26-408.

Yes the parts appear to be correct. The window weights 33.4 lbs, it has the 15-087 pivot shoe and two 15-086 tandem carriers. My question is can I eliminate on of the tandem carriers with heavier balance coils and what balance coils would I need (for the one tandem carrier setup or the two tandem carrier setup)?

I see what you mean. You won't be able to use less than two springs per side. For a 33.4 pound sash, you'd need one 16 pound (at least) spring on each side, which is not a size that's made. The best you can do is using two 8 pound springs per side.

Any idea what weather stripping this could be? I couldn't find anything with a 1/4" base. Thanks

It's definitely a type of wool pile, but the base is probably not going to be 1/4". More than likely it's 7/32" or even 9/32". I'm afraid I can't tell which from this photo. You will have to measure it as carefully as you can and use your best judgement. Just keep in mind that the base may be a little less than it was when it was made due to wear and age. In the meantime, you can see our complete selection of wool pile here.
