A home owner from Louisville, KY says:
The broken latch has "C-7442-5" molded on its' underside. The door handle screws are 2.5" measured center to center. Hope you can identify the replacement part based on these photos and description.

Thanks for posting, Ralph. Check out our 82-043 in the color white. You may also want consider purchasing a new internal mortise lock. See part 82-037, which is a mortise lock for a 2 panel Andersen sliding door. Make sure to match up your existing mortise lock with the dimensions found on the 82-037 product page.
A home owner from North Dakota says:
Our thumb latch broke while it was in the locked position and we are unable to open the lock to get the door open. We will likely need to replace all these parts, but we cannot get the lock released to open the door and access the lock mechanism. Any suggestions?

That's a tough one. If the thumb latch broke while the mortise was engaged with the keeper, then there's no easy way to get it out.

Your best hope is to try to maneuver the broken thumb latch back in place and try your best to throw it manually. Try pliers, screwdrivers, anything you can to get that hook to flip.

If nothing works, then your only option is to find some way to cut the hardware out. This is a very difficult project and we highly recommend the help of a local professional to come out and assist you.
