Broken window guides
Hello! This looks like our S395-29 channel balance. You should check the length of your metal channel. Based on your stamp, it should be 29" not 30".
Speaking of stamp, yours uses an outdated rating system. One of the standard options available for the S395-29 should work fine, but you'll have to get the exact weight of your sash to determine the best choice. There's no avoiding it, I'm afraid. You don't want to guess. Refer to the chart on the S395-29 store page. All you have to do is match your sash weight up on that chart.
You mention stop blocks, but I don't know what that is. I'm not familiar with that term. Can you show me the part in question?
Thanks for the quick response.I measured the track from end to end and it measures 30 inches. As for the markings that's what both tracks had stamped on them as best I can read. So do I order the 29 or 30? I sent some picture of what I call the stop blocks. These are the plastic pieces that screw on to the window sash that the channel slides up to and stops. Thanks for your help. Bob
Added some more pictures of what is called sash guides.
That is peculiar. If the metal channel is 30" (ignoring the nylon fittings) then I suppose you should go with a 30" long balance. It's just very, very odd that a 30" balance has a stamp starting with "28." You will need to weigh your sash on a scale and refer to the chart on the S395-30 store page to confirm the best option to select, since the spring rating will be different.
As for this other part, that appears to be a top sash guide. Yours in particular looks similar to our 18-166, but carefully go over our dimensions to confirm they match up. I think they look pretty close.
Thanks for all the help. As soon as I weigh the window will order the new parts.
