Broken window sash, sash cam, and channel balance

A home owner from San Diego says:
My window channel balance and sash cam are broken on one side, I think I've identified the correct channel balance replacement, S351-31, and sash cam, 18-171, however the upper corner of the sash itself is also broken, though the screw hole for the original sash cam is still intact. I'm wondering if I replaced the channel balance and sash cam would it be able to hold, or would the new hardware also break because of the damage to the sash? I feel like it should be ok, as long as the sash cam isn't supposed to hold the weight of the window.

I see what you mean. You may be right: there is a chance that the top sash guide won't have the structural integrity to hold the balance as long as the sash is broken like that. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about this, short of replacing the sash itself. That kind of damage cannot be repaired, I'm afraid.
