The original ones have a thicker push-in core, so they don't compress as much - they were really in there, took some effort to pull out.

You guys are great. I've attached a photo of my original flap side by side with the new flap 59-054. The bug flap push-in portion won't stay pushed in (5/16" push-in portion matches the width of the slot in my screen door, 5/16"). Hope you can recommend something.

Hello. We are sorry to hear that the last product did not work out for you. How about taking a look at our 59-058 bug flap. We believe this should hold tight in your screen door. Get back to us and let us know if this may work for you.
