CHANNEL BALANCE APPEARS TO BE SERIES 710

A quick learner from chicago says:
I need to replace square channel balances that appear to be series 710. They are 9/16 wide, 9/16 deep, 43 inches long, NOT ribbed. Stamped 42C 22 (and there may be some kind of stamp to the right of the '22' that looks like an L or maybe a squared off 'C'). There is a 15-003 shoe attached, and a little double roller mechanism on that end of the balance, but there is no 19-009, or any other type, of top on the other end. There is only a rivet in the first position at the top of the balance. Do you know what I have?

If this is for an old Acorn side load window, then I think the top attachment may once have been the 19-009. I don't know of anything else they would have used. You may want to check with another, similar window in the house that may still have its hardware. It's possible your old top attachment broke off over the years.

We can custom make this for you, if you want to go with the 19-009 and 15-003 combination. Could you just tell me how many you need?
