CHANNEL BALANCE FOR NON-TILT WINDOWS

Question

Hi, I am looking to replace the balancers for my ~1989 Milgard Aluminum window.  The window weighs 9.7 pounds.  The balancer is imprinted with 2030 J.  The balancer is 1/2" (9/16") wide and 21" in length.  I think I know which balancer to choose, just not sure the proper way to measure the bottom shoe. Thanks for posting! Your window balance reminds me of either the S351-21 or the S390-21. You'll need to confirm the depth of your shoe to determine which series is the correct replacement; see the diagram below for reference.

Given the sash weight, I would suggest using the 2020 stamp option. This will support a sash weighing 8 to 12lbs.
