CONSTANT FORCE COIL SASH BALANCE

Purchasing Agent from Dartmouth , NOVA SCOTIA
I HAVE THIS COIL BALANCE, THAT IS STAMPED 7. IS IS A SINGLE BALANCE BUT THE COIL FITS RIGHT INTO THIS SHOE. I CANNOT FIND A SHOE THAT IS SIMILAR, AND I'M NOT SURE WHICH SHOE GOES WITH THIS TYPE OF COIL. THE SHOE WOULD MEASURE 1/2" THICK AND ABOUT 1 3/16 WIDE, IT IS ABOUT 1 1/2" LONG, BUT THAT ISN'T VITAL. MY COIL IS 1/2" THICK COIL. THE SASH WEIGHS ABOUT 14 LBS.

I'm afraid I don't recognize that shoe, either. That's quite unlike any of the shoes we have access to. If the coil and shoe are 1/2" thick, though, then we may be able to come up with a working substitute.

Before I recommend anything, can you show me a picture of the pivot bar that goes into the shoe? Assuming we can find a substitute that fits in the track, we still need to be sure it can interact with the sash. The pivot bars are key to that. Let me know!

It is your 26-368 pivot bar

Hi there and thank you for your patience with us. We believe the company that made this balance set up went of business. However, we do offer a similar set up. You can use our coil spring S160-7 as a replacement and for a new pivot shoe, our 15-191 is worth considering. It is shorter, but the width (1-1/4") and thickness (1/2" will match up with your measurements. As for the pivot bar, the 26-368 will fit in the metal center cam. Review both parts mentioned and let us know if any other questions come up.
