Caldwell Window Balances 28 3 AP

Question

I ordered 2 Caldwell window balances (ord. #1095001) yesterday that are to replace mine marked 28 3 AP . you suggested the ones in the order as noted. My question is only that I didn!t indicate the alphabet letters AP which followed the 28 3 stamped on the channel. does this make a difference?

Secondly, I have a problem with two other windows the same size. the window channel on one side of each window has slipped out of the sash and is visable in the casing above the full length of the 19 inches of the channels. The windows are jammed and I cannot raise them. I tried to push down on the top of the balance but they won t budge. Suggestions.

The letters on your balance shouldn't make a difference. It's the numbers that indicate the spring strength.

As far as your jammed windows, I'd recommend sending us a picture of the problem that you're having. If we can see where the jam is occurring, we might be able to explain to you how to fix it. Thank you!
