Caldwell window balance

A landlord from Quincy, Wash. says:

I need to replace 18" window balances marked 17 5 Caldwell CM. Would like to be certain I'm ordering the correct ones, as I need replacements for several windows. Can you help me?

Sure, we'd be happy to help you find the correct replacement balances. The number stamped on the balance tells us the amount of tension needed to support the weight of the window but, unfortunately, not what the correct replacement would be. If you could show us a photo of the entire balance removed from the window, we'll be able to compare you original to our replacements and point you in the right direction. Thank you!
