I'm looking for block & tackle replacement, the whole piece. The markings found on the existing part is : 23 5 Caldwell BM .
The second piece marked: 23 4 Caldwell CM . Both have the same length: 24 inches long .

Thanks for posting! Are these balances in the same window? If so, they shouldn't have different stamps. If these two work together, can you give me the weight of the sash that they support? That way we can make sure that you are getting the right thing.
Next, please take a look at our 15-004 and 15-005 channel balance shoes, and note their depths. As you can see, they are 1-3/32" deep and 1" deep, respectively. Which one more closely matches your own bottom attachment?

The balances are from the same sash window.
The glass in the window is chicken-wired, I guess it will be a bit heavy. The window is about 28" wide by 20" tall, weighted maybe, I guess, 30 lbs the most?
The bottom guide measured 1-2/16" deep.
The shaft of the balance is .5 in wide and deep.
The opening of the shaft ,where the spring seating, is 5/8 of an inch.

Thanks, Ken. If the depth is about 1-1/8" deep, then I think you're looking at our 15-004. Double check the measurement just to make sure. If you agree, then check out our Series 385 channel balance.
As for the sash, I highly recommend getting as exact a weight as possible just to make sure. If you choose an option that is too strong or too weak, your window will not open and close properly and you may even cause damage to it.
