Can You Help With Any Ideas to Repair Sliding Door Handle

I just purchased a property and some modified the sliding glass door frame and the door handle/latch will no longer hold securely in place on the sliding glass door frame. I was able to take some pictures of what the original door handle/latch looked liked at another property
