Can this door latch be switched to fit both left and right?

Question

All illustrations show lockset in a left-hand opening door (door hinge on left side).  I need lockset for a right-hand opening door (door hinge on right). Can replacement be changed by switching the inner and outer face plates and locks?  What about the triangular latch that holds the door closed?

Yes, the 40-049 lockset can be used for either left or right hand applications. To change the latch from left to right (or right to left), loosen up the latch "nose" and turn it to the correct swing. We have a video that will clarify how this can be done.
