Can you identify this missing "pin"(?)

Question

I do not know if they are even pins. I just know the house I moved into has one window that if I unlock, the upper window falls immediately. It is the only window in the house that does not have these on both sides of the top window. I was told they're called weights, but have not been able to find anything remotely similar. I'd love a link if you're able to find them online. Thanks!
