Can you replace these Certainteed coils?

Certainteed Doublehung window. Both coils are broken. We use this window once a day, opening it 12" for an hour. The coil has 10 stamped on the tongue, barely legible. The pivot shoe has A186160. The other plastic piece has H65 34/5M. We need two coils.

Hey there,

Thanks for posting! You coil balance shoe reminds me of the 15-192 CertainTeed Pivot Shoe. To confirm that this is the right replacement, carefully review and compare the dimensions mentions and design below.

This shoe is compatible with the Series 170 and Series 171 Coil Balance Springs. The strongest coil we carry is the 9lb coil, so you'll need to use the S170-405 and then use the S171-405 to stack on top of it. (The Series 171 has a longer tongue so that it will be able to stack on top of the Series 170 coil.)

The 33-072 screw is used to secure the coils to the pivot shoe. You may also need the 15-156 CertainTeed Lance Spring Cover, the 15-157 CertainTeed Balance Drum.

YEs the pivot shoe is the same dimension. So I guess because my coil is stamped with 10, I would need two 5 coils on each side. In which case I need two sets of the lance spring cover, and two of the Balance drum, correct?

Okay, great! I'm glad the shoe is a match. In regard to the number of parts; yes, that would be correct.

Please let me know if there is anything else I might be able to assist with.
