Can't figure out which mortise lock to buy for my sliding door

Home Owner from Maryland

When I tried to replace my broken mortise lock, it fell into my sliding door. And now I don't know what kind of mortise lock to replace it with. I bought one that has the right length, but doesn't fit into the opening. Please help! Thanks.

Thanks for posting. Never fear, you purchased the correct mortise lock. It is meant to be a tight fit, and has to be installed carefully at an angle. The video below shows how to do this.

I installed the mortise lock based on the video you shared and (ordered from you). Yay! But I realized I am missing one hollow screw and one non-hollow screw, and the key cylinder also has to be replaced. Could you tell me which screws and key cylinder to order?

Thanks.

I'm afraid we can't help with the screws but if you take them to a local hardware store, they should be able to match them up for you. As for the key lock, see the 82-310
